What are some places Hong Kong citizens can visit in Turkey?

If you are planning to visit Turkey from Hong Kong, you can check our list of places given below to get a better idea about Turkey:

Konyaalti Beach

One of Antalya's two premier beaches, Konyaalti Beach is located west of the town's centre and has a gorgeous backdrop of mountains that descend to the sea beyond.

This strip, which is more pebbly than sandy, is quite popular in the summer with both domestic and international tourists, and the abundance of facilities available makes lazy beach days uncomplicated.

Rentable sun loungers with umbrellas are available, along with clean restrooms and showers. The palm tree-lined promenade behind the beach is dotted with snack bars, cafés, and restaurants in case you become hungry.

The beach is easily accessible from the city, making it a very popular beach option for tourists staying in the charming boutique hotels in Antalya's old town district as well as those staying in seaside hotels.

Stratonikeia

Stratonikeia is located 75 kilometres northeast of Bodrum Town along the main Bodrum-Mula Highway. Despite being a short day journey from Bodrum, this historic landmark has surprisingly few tourists. If you've been to more well-known ancient cities in Turkey, like Ephesus, a stroll among the remains here with no other tourists in sight is a welcome break.

Although the area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age Hittite era, the earliest monuments that are still in existence are from the Classical era, when Stratonikeia emerged as a key node on the regional commerce routes.

Stratonikeia was continuously populated up to the early years of the current Turkish Republic as the village of Eskihisar, unlike many Greco-Roman cities.

Although the community was finally relocated a few kilometres away from Stratonikeia, numerous people still live there, and a number of palaces and monuments from the Ottoman era that date to the 19th century has been preserved in addition to the older ruins.

As a result, Stratonikeia is a distinctively stratified site where you may stroll from the Hellenistic theatre, cut into the hillside, through alleyways littered with dilapidated stone homes from the Ottoman era, to the majestic double-arched northern gate.

Hattuşa

The ruins of Hattuşa, the imperial capital of the Anatolian Bronze Age Hittite Empire, are located 192 kilometres east of Ankara on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Boazkale. One of the best experiences while visiting Turkey is taking a day trip to Ankara to see the Hattuşa ruins.

During the Bronze Age, the Hittites controlled a sizable region of land that extended as far as Syria and much of modern-day Turkey. The ruins of their most significant city can still be found on the rough hill that towers over Boazkale today.

The Hattuşa defences that enclose the hill are the most notable ruins. The impressive remnants of the city's extensive defensive walls include the Yer Kap (Earth Gate) mound, which has a 70-meter-long tunnel entrance, The Sphinx Gate on the canopy of the mound, and Aslanl Kap (The Lion's Gate), with its stone lions.

Two kilometres away from the main remains is the location of Yazlkaya, which originally served as Hattuşa's holy sanctuary. The key Hittite kings are seen here in intricately carved and well-preserved reliefs presenting tributes to their gods.

Myndos Gate

The Myndos Gate is the major portion of the once-sturdy fortress walls built by King Mausolus, which originally encircled the ancient city for a distance of seven kilometres, and is one of the most rabid history buffs searching for the remains of Halicarnassus.

This little group of ruins, which include a scattering of tomb and stele slabs and the meagre remains of a 4th-century moat encircling the gate fragments, are unimpressive unless you have a special interest in ancient history.

But you can see the site and the tomb and the theatre with ease by taking a stroll from the marina and coming back via this site.

The Butterfly Valley

The breathtaking vistas of the Butterfly Valley in Fethiye are one of the Lycia Way's biggest rewards for hikers. Rugged bays protrude from the landscape, their coastlines fading to turquoise as they are surrounded by enormous cliffs that rise up on either side.

A campsite with a beach bar serving beer and grilled fish, as well as yoga sessions held under the trees, is located at the base of the rocky and sandy beach and is only reachable by boat. The inland valley (constantly utilised as a dirt road) meanders past waterfalls and rich vegetation, and in the spring it is teeming with 100 different species of butterflies.

Bodrum’s peninsula beaches

The Bodrum Peninsula's beaches outside of the town are the main attraction for tourists in the summer, and from June through August, the shorefront is crowded with people lounging in the sun.

The beaches in the peninsula towns of Ortakent, Bitez, Gümbet, and Turgetreis are the most well-liked; they include both free public beaches and private beach clubs that need a membership fee.

For those who don't want to travel far for swimming and tanning, Bodrum Town also has two strips of beach right in the middle of town.

Don't expect to locate a solitary sandbar because the entire peninsula is a favourite destination for both domestic and European tourists. This is one of Turkey's most visited locations during the height of summer, and going to the beach is the top activity.
